We used transaction/process keys in implementing inventory management.

We used the historical data and analyzed it to see the mappings between
movement type to transaction keys. This gave us some understaning going
forward which movement type is mapped to which transaction key.

However, if the movement type is not used then we don't know which transaction
key it will be mapped to other than taking a guess by knowing the desription of
the transaction keys and movement types.

We tried debugging the code but were not succesful in finding the table or
place where the mappings between process key and movement types are made.

The transaction keys are maintained in the IMG of BW in R/3.

Movement types are in T156 table.

There is no indication in any SAP documentation where the mapping between the
movement type and transaction key is made. We asked SAP and the general
support has no clue about it except to say the documentation is intutive enough
to understand.
